The channel is also popular in the market as “Polskie Radio Chicago.” The local coverage of the broadcaster is carried to the public of Chicago. The broadcaster is a part of a network of eight stations, which is operated and owned by “Polnet Communications, Ltd.” The channel broadcasts 24/7 from its studios located at 3656 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago Illinois. While, the transmitter which serves the domestic audience, operates from off Route 176 west of Crystal Lake, Illinois.
WNVR 1030 was initially a daytime-only, all-news broadcaster when it started its operations on 1st March 1988. Hence, the name of the channel means “News Voice Radio,” which was also used at that time as the market tagline of the station. The first transmitter of the broadcaster was located in Mundelein, Illinois and powered by 500 watts. In 1989, the channel started offering business news programming from the “Business Radio Network.” The current owner acquired the broadcaster in 1993 for $495,000 and changed its format to Polish language programming.
