Millard Kibbe founded the radio by the name KIBE in 1947. In its early days, the station only served the purpose of rebroadcasting the programming of KDFC-FM and carry classical music format. Salem Communications acquired the broadcaster on 24th of July 2001 and started to offer Christian talk programming. The last changes were made on 1st July 2008 when it flipped to its current call letter and programming format.
