WRPW 92.9 is a conservative radio broadcaster licensed to Colfax, Illinois. The station provides coverage to the audience of Bloomington-Normal and commercially recognized by the name “Cities Talk FM 92.9.” The channel has two sister broadcasters WZIM and WIBL, and together they work under the ownership of Pilot Media, which itself is a subsidiary of Great Plains Media. The transmitter which serves the local audience is run by the effective radiated power of 6,000 watts.
The channel started its journey on 5th May 1996 by the name WAPU, but after just being launched, the callsign was changed to WSNI. Originally, it was an “Adult Contemporary” broadcaster and marketed as “Sunny 92.9.” The callsign of the station was changed to WRPW in late 2001 when it started simulcasting WZPW. Together, both stations were branded as “Power 92.” The affiliation was broken in 2006 when WZPW was sold to Regent Broadcasting. The channel was rebranded as “Power 92.9” at the same time. The format of the station was shifted from Rhythmic Contemporary to Talk radio format on 30th August 2007 and using it until now.
