WRCH 100.5 is an American radio broadcaster that serves the public of Greater Hartford on the FM frequency of 100.5 MHz. The channel is licensed to New Britain, Connecticut and air 24/7 programming. Domestically, the station can also be listened through HD Radio. The station broadcast internationally through its web streaming service. “Lite 100.5 WRCH” is the brand name of the radio. The channel offers round the clock programming from Adult Contemporary, Smooth Jazz, and Sports radio formats.
The station is headquartered on Executive Drive, also in Farmington, and managed by its owner Entercom; which also co-owns its sibling channels WTIC-FM, WTIC, and WZMX. While, the transmitter which airs the day and night programming of the station, is located on Rattlesnake Mountain atop the WTIC-TV tower, off US Route 6 in Farmington. The effective radiated power used by the transmitter is 7,500 watts. Some of the offered shows of the channel simulcasted from Premiere Networks, while the rest of them are produced locally.
WRCH 100.5 started its journey on 1st July 1968 under the ownership of “Central Connecticut Broadcasting.” The ownership license of the broadcaster was moved to “Radio Corporation of Hartford” in 1977. As time passed, the channel gained more and more traffic and gradually became one of the top-rated stations in Greater Hartford. The ownership license moved to Entercom on 7th February 2017.
